Welsh Students Can Turn Into Graduate Hackers

The world's first postgraduate certificate in penetration testing and information security has been set up by a Welsh university.
The University of Glamorgan will offer students lessons in ethical hacking, wireless security and BS 7799. "The introduction of this specialist qualification broadens the scope of our existing IT education programme," said Andrew Blyth, principal lecturer at the university's school of computing. "The theoretical and practical elements of the programme will provide students with transferable skills which are of tangible benefit in the industry."
The course has been coordinated with information security company 7Safe which said the industry has been looking for help from the education sector, especially in the current internet-related crime wave.
"This respected university has further enhanced the credibility of our education and certification programme," said Alan Phillips, managing director at 7Safe. "The industry has been asking for this for a long time."
