Monopolies? Sure. That's why we now have Origin, Battle.NET, uPlay, Windows 10 Store, GOG Galaxy, Bethesda Launcher etc.
Little guys left out? Looks like someone haven't heard of Greenlight, or how Steam has increased sales of small indie titles many folds just within a day of release.
Steam has pricing power? Bullshit. Publishers set the price. At least Steam has given us region specific pricing. Look what Origin did.
Valve doesn't promote their platform. Sure. Instead they host huge sales and have discounts throughout the year which are more useful to the customers.
PC Gaming DOMINATED game revenue in 2015, and Steam had a large part to play in it.
