I registered my Hard Drive WD 74gb Raptor for RMA on 12th April 2011.Drive was supposed to be picked on 18th April 2011 ,but no one came to pick the drive .On 22nd April, I got a call from their courier company (don't remember the name ) that a guy will come to pick up the drive on 23rd ,but then again no one came to pick it up .I was soo disappointed with this pathetic customer service that on 27th, I decided to mail[their customer care number is always busy ] them, and again I was assured by their customer executive , like earlier ,but no one turned up . .By this time I lost my temper ,told them how good I feel about the company .On 2nd May ,I was again assured like earlier that "process will be expedited;" and I will receive the replacement drive within two days .

Yesterday ,I received an email from WD stating Drive of so and so serial number has been received and delivered ..WOW.now I'm dead sure this company is not run by fools ,but by ultra..,super morons . Their after sales service has touched new heights of mediocrity .:S :@
RMA was Done on 12 APRIL 2011 and NOW its 8th May 2011.:S

Note :I've once again complaint them regarding error or whatever their site is showing .now waiting for their reply .

Secondly .I don't want this thread to become WD vs Seagate .If you're really interested in that please open your own thread for that.

Holy crap! Bought 3 WD blue drives one decided to vanish taking all the data with it.....Reading a lot of bad WD RMA exp. is scaring the shit out of me.I am cursing myself for going the WD way now.

here is my fantastic experience, bad hdd shipped on 29th> they received it on 3rd>sent a new one on 5th> i received it on 7th (yesterday):)

So pretty fast service, even the cc are good, had a nice and helpful chat.

dude ,I''ve no fun bashing others,and secondly I never took this incident very seriously(Trancend is another company ,who has lousy after sales service they took more 3 months to replace my transcend portable hard drive and its not me ..ask accelfrontline people, they know lot about them . ] .My aim was to make people aware .you're one among the lucky users, who got their replacements in time .

Today ,I got the new hard drive today .

yet to give the older one though.

shoot a mail to their customer care stating you're very disappointed .They will do everything to solve your problem
 
yes bruv the WD RMA service sucks. i had to go through a horrendous experience to get my passport usb drive replaced. they took a jolly long 3 months to carry out the RMA that too after i threatened them with a lawsuit. :P
 
^^ Sent a few mails to CC, and now rma status shows hdd picked up and delivered. Guess mine has been shipped too.. bfore pickin up the older up. thnx Stuge :D
 
If you want to speedup your RMA, then maintain communication with them either by phone or mail, this helps :)
 
Seems like they love assuring people without doing real work .They have been doing same again, and are yet to update hard drives warranty
