My extremely precious Western Digital WD5000KS-00MNB0 SATA2 hard drive died :( Check this thread for details: http://www.techenclave.com/storage-solutions/help-burnt-hard-drive-controller-western-176865.html

Basically I'm looking for a used WD5000KS-00MNB0 so that I can swap the drive controller boards and recover my data. I am willing to pay the current market price of a new 500GB drive for the WD5000KS-00MNB0! Here are the exact details:

Hard drive required: Western Digital WD5000KS-00MNB0

DCM (mentioned on the drive): HCHCAJAH

Firmware: 07.02E07

PCB Part No (mentioned on drive controller board). 2060-701383-001 Rev A

LBA (mentioned on drive): 976773168

If any of you own this drive, please sell it to me as I'm willing to pay the price of a new 500GB drive! You have nothing to lose :)

Thank you in advance.

Thanks a lot for the help m-jeri; I visited all these links (and more!) last night but none of these sites mention the DCM no. and firmware, which I have gathered are very important when swapping controller boards. I'll buy one of these as a last resort, but it's preferable if I'm able to find a second-hand drive on this forum itself!

seen all that but I'd prefer buying a hard drive from a forum such as TE. I'm sure there are people here who own this drive, I'm willing to pay the price of a new 500-gigger. No one interested!
