Ok, so my h140 got wet on Friday morning, in the heavy rain we had. It was in my bag.
Got home, and realised it wasn't coming on, so on Saturday night, I tried again.. the screen came on (but no bootup), HDD light went on, and charging light was on as well. I opened it, ran a hairdryer over it, and let it remain open in the drawer.

What else can I do? It isn't even coming on now, should I just wait?

tech head..my sis also wetted her iriver...and the dial stuff wasnt working..i thght to giv it for service somwhere...and left in cupboard 4 ard 10-15 days and it started working again.......

jus dont start the stuff as it may short circuit the stuff......

jus leave it at dry moist place for some days and keep trying after say 4-5 days once and see and check the stuff for a month

leave it out in the sun, let it dry, and then try charging it :D

my transcend T 610 fell into the water once. didnt start, but dried it , band it started when i plugged in the charger :D

Ok.. I tried starting up, but no go.
So I should just wait for 4-5 days? Say, try it again on Friday?

Yea.. I've opened it up and let it be in my desk drawer. I saw the water condense on the screen.. scary stuff!

Hope it works.. you don't get these anymore :(

Best of Best Idea....Tried and Tested :ohyeah:

Make a small envelope using paper and put it in it.
Use a rope and tie one end to the envelope in such a way that u can suspend it using the other end.
Tie it up at the "back" of ur -fridge- ( the grill stuff ). Leave it for 1-2 days :)

Will suck all moisture outta it :) Ofcourse wont fix the damage already done.

Ive tried that method for my old cellphone. It was "floating" in water inside my pocket. It was dripping water from it. Used that method and phone worked for another 8 months before I upgraded.

sorry zhopu...i missed non .its non moist.......

and yup try after some days techhead..but till than keep trying to dry but dont try hair dryer and all...but it will take time as this days its rain alot so keep it in cupboard

My ipod too got soaked with water and it wouldnt boot. I aired it for a week in my air conditioned office hoping that it would remove the water from the ipod. It worked ! After 5 days it started working, but would hang up and the display would fade away ! But soon 2 days later it was up and running as before.

where did you get that weird idea from?? :P

:) Well its a constant place where heat would gradually be always around.
I used to see a few of my relatives do that.......
They would come home and put their "watches" ( if wet ) in rains on top of the fridge to get rid of the moisture from inside the dial and stuff and hence works :) So when the thing happened with my cellphone i tried it too :)...
Also keeping it in direct sun is good , but then ur running the risk of the moisture drying up on the lcd and kaputing the lcd and causing those annoying black dead patches at times. So if u doing that "always" wrap up the thingie in a thin handkerchief.
