might as well ask you guys before we announce changes :ohyeah:

Ok its very simple.
What do you think you want on TE. Do you think there is something here that needs to be changed. If so elaborate. What is the single most important thing you like on TE?
Is there some thing, anything you have seen on any board/site you want here?

Plz reply with details. Don't give actual software names..we will look for the best and get them.. just tell the features or new things you want..if any that is
Btw this is valid for portal too.

The Oversized Siggies on XS Forums , wud love to have it here.
But i know this will not be implemented as there are dialup users also accessing the forums.
But Siggies can be disabled in there profile.

Also wud like to see "Custom Titles" for the dedicated TE Users.

Hope i aint asking tooooo much.

Just giving my opinions , implementing is finally upto you.

I am the first one to agree for the vB skin :D:D:D

Jokes apart if we cound have a forum or sub forum on education it would be good.This has been spoken many times and I still support it :):):)
 
One important thing I would like (no idea if it will be considered feasable) is an interaction and link sharing with other indian technology/computers/science sites, like chip, digit, techtree, bsd-india, linux-india etc.

The next is a light and fast loading skin, like LiteBar Ultra for Invision PB. It uses very few images and CSS inline buttons, making it faast indeed.

It would also be nice if some collaborative efforts could be organised, to produce some really good articles and tutorials.

TE is good due to what it is now. It has a distinct personality. TT sucks. No idea abt the others.....

Please let TE be independant. Actually, I know tht what Ujjwal said will never happen... but still....
 
I would like to see TE coming up with some of it's own projects. If we have some good programmers on board, you could plan a distributed computing project. You could dedicate this project to some cause, eg. something simple like validation of the many links in the database, to something more complex like trying to break some sort of code.

Apart from that, i would like to see people behaving themselves on the forums, less spamming, and more original TE content, available on the site/portal, rather than just on the forums.

The skins are alright, since i use the TE Lite skin.

LOL.. shall i ask myself that again for 5 times? By the way...what's the problem in having it? You are not gonna do any changes or work for it..it comes with vB naa?
 
IPB? Man.. IPB looks good thats all. But vB got more features than IPB got. and they would have paid for the license for vB , so i don't think they will change it.
 
something like this would help pc diagnosis especially in hardware sections



just a bunch of text boxes with heading in user cp and it appears to the right of every post

rather than default vbb skin i vote for a light skin , text and links only. no colors , fancy images , css nothing :P

IPB... the new version does have grt features too. Anyway no plans to change yet but yeah.. its under the scanner

Skins,, well i think a pretty fast theme is under development now. But having said that, i guess a pretty drab theme won't look good. We try to keep images to the min but i guess its a thin line between whats cool and still fast for dialup.

btw about bottles idea, it might be good in some sections to have that but not in whole forums. But in troubleshooting i agree its a grt idea ;) < you won the idea award from me > ok take reps instead ;)
