I see the cheaper ones do not have these features. Is thrustmaster a good brand?Has anyone used genius, nitho or frontech wheels?how are they?

Force feedback = Haptic technology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linear resistance = This feature means that resistance increases according to the steering wheel's rotation angle. The further you turn the wheel, the greater the resistance becomes, offering incomparable realism (i.e. the harder you turn into a curve, the greater the resistance).

Force feedback - is the sensation where you can feel the rumble strips/potholes on the road through vibrations on the wheel. Basically a form of haptic feedback.
Not so sure about the other two, but I think linear resistance means that the wheel will provide increased resistance on turning it more, resembling an actual steering wheel, and will probably centre itself.
Thrustmaster is a good name when it comes to racing wheels. Other alternative is Logitech. Haven't come across the brand names you have mentioned, other than Frontech which I'm sure will be not worth spending much on.

Since the other two are explained, progressive pedal means the acceleration or braking are connected to the pedals with multiple bit control, as in instead of being like a on-off switch, it has many intermediate power levels. so the harder u press the harder action get applied, similar to xbox/PSP joystick.
It is nice because it offers multiple states between totally off and totally on controls.
