How important is HDMI and what exactly is HDTV support ???

its HDTV-ready , so you can connect HDTV receivers and enable HDTV resolutions . no it won't have HDTV-tuner .

as for HDMI , its an interface where both audio and video are passed . HDMI is not very well taken by the market but there are some HDMI players like HD860 which upsamples to 720p ...

Umm I dont quite understand that.

HDMI is absolutely the best AV interface for HiFi systems.

@ Switch - HDMI bascially replaces those three Red, White, Yellow cables with one compact solution making it neat + no analog conversion.

yes because atleast for now there is no difference in detail/color/contrast level of a video between an HDMI & component out, provided ur using good component cables. This is because of 2 major reasons, first ofcourse lack of TRUE 720p/1080p video source which u can compare with the normal 480p DVDs we see normally. Second, The TV sets we actually use are max 720p capable, so anything above that will be downscaled to lower res. eliminating the differentiation detail levels.
So u see in both cases u are actually seeing the video in compatibility mode;) so other than less wires u won't see a noticable difference to die for Digital HDMI.
Another practical reason i'd like to mention is that most of us will connect these HDTVs to our PC's to watch the Xvid/x264 encoded movies, which again w'd not be having detailed content. Also the HDMI cables are very costly, around 4K for a decent 2.5 mtr cable.
