I've to leave for office early and most days I miss my breakfast. Mom is more than willing to make big healthy "breakfast like a king " meal for me but I don't want her to go through all the trouble in the morning.

So, all you working guys (and non-working), what do you eat for breakfast? Especially need some suggestions where I could make the thing myself quickly and is delicious too :D

PS: Hope I'm not going to get too many replies stating Kelloggs :ashamed:

Option 1 - Oatmeal + Milk + Banana + One other fruit

Option 2 - Cereal (of your choice) + Milk + Two kinds of fruits

Above two options are least time consuming, more like pop in your mouth and get out of the house.

Option 3 - 2 eggs + 2 toast + One fruit or Milk

Option 4 - 2 non fried paranthas + One fruit or Milk

These options are slightly more time consuming, but worth it.

Of course, what you like to eat, and what you actually do totally depends on your own likes, dislikes and habits. These are the healthiest breakfast options I could think of, and which I follow on a regular basis.

Rava upma takes less time to make than noodles. Plus should work out a lot cheaper.

Chopped tomatoes + coriander leaves + salt and pepper = great filling for a sandwich.

Oats + milk + banana;

Toasted bread/butter + fruit juice + banana;

Toasted bread + boiled eggs + fruit juice + banana;

Corn flakes + milk + boiled eggs + banana;

:P

well I could say it also depends on ur mode of travel :P

if you are travelling in company bus or something/provided you are seated and dont mind eating in bus u can pack something quickly as others mentioned above and eat at your joy :P

^^^

what no way!! don't eat in bus either you will spoil your dress and hands or get a bad stomach cos of too much pollution and dust lol

there is no joy in eating in the bus especially on indian roads :lol:

^ I drive to office.. so no chance of that.. was hoping someone would mention ready-in-two-mins chicken salad or something.. :P

bread + butter with Tea works for me..

have as many bread slices as you can, Filling as well as light on stomach...

i prefer boiled egg after that incase i wont be eating anything for next 5-6hours.

LOL isn't that a bit too much for a healthy diet considering it's a breakfast. :P

I'm a big hearty eater as long as the stuff is tasty.. would be going easy on the lunch then.. anyways I get all drowsy in office in the afternoon and my immediate appraiser sits right behind me :ashamed:

I have a good filling breakfast and generally skip the lunch since the canteens are way too far from where I'm seated at my workplace. And a sumptuous dinner - by the evening I have a snack and a tea as well. :P

We generally prepare 3 types of sandwiches not for breakfast, but for evening snack...but the idea is same..quick and healthy.

Then one day we have maggi, oatmeal, upma with lots of vegetables, sprouts, fruits only, and one day per week we have junk snacks.

The key here is, we dont spend time thinking what to make today. We generally decide things for 2 weeks in advance.

For sandwiches, we use wheat bread and the filling includes

Onion+cucumber+tomato all cut to tiny tiny pieces.

or

onion+tofu+tomato all cut to tiny tiny pieces.

or

onion+boiled potato+tomato+boiled peas

or

onion+cabbage+capsicum

In your case, to further reduce the prepration time in morning, you can prepare the fillings in the evening as well.

Hope this helps.

Regards,

Mohit

^ Great ideas everyone! Keep 'em pouring! :D

The not-having-breakfast part is not working right now... all morning I keep dreaming about lunch. Then I overeat during lunch and then keep dreaming about my bed all afternoon. :P

^muesli is v.healthy but dry fruits with milk in morning kind of sucks for me.

oat+milk+banana is quickest for me.

If I've time I'd love to have Upma/Poha + milk in morning.

Add boiled egg, boiled chicken, cheese, cheese spread for variation. Get some chicken sausage and try it. Also toasts with scrambled eggs and some boiled mashed potatoes is quick and tasty. Also try toasts with various jams or honey.
