Being the owner of a 6600GT myself, I have no hesitation is recommending the same. I bought it for 14K and the price is now around 9K. :-(

Yes get the 6600GT, you won't regret it later

If you can't stretch your budget then you can get the 6600 256 MB, non-GT but decent card.

1) The performance of the all the brands in within 3-4% or even lower amongst all the brands. So get the one you favour the most or chk it out on the basis of cooling and bundle etc.

2) x800 performance is definitely better than 6600GT, but i have no idea about sg prices.

x800 is around 400 sing which works out to about 10k inr. i think the 6600gt is a better choice for your budget. if your desperate for an ati card you could check out the x800gt which performs close to the 6600gt

X800 will be better if you are getting a 256mb version, 128mb X800 is more or less as fast as a 6600 GT. Go for 6600 GT has better Linux drivers, and decnt performance too.

In that budget you can go for Geforce 6600(non-GT) pci-ex 256Mb from XFX/Leadtek/ ASUS. If you can add a 2k more you can get yourself a 6600GT 128MB DDR3 :hap2: version which gives you a more performance than 6600 Non GTs.
