What is a new technology in RAM

Hello, My name is dhaval. I want to know about the new technology in RAM.
I want to know brief idea about the how it works.

I also want to know about the new technology in processor and which new technology will come in near future.

New Ram technologies expected are
DDR 3 , comming up in Q1 2006. [Guys correct me if i am wrong]

Also are expected AMD Processors supporting DDR2 Ram modules.
Socket M2 based processors.
