PC Peripherals What is AUX in the image?

AUX could possibly be the temps of the PWM IC's on your board. Since i have no experience with any P4 boards, this is my best guess.

PWM IC's are what regulate and control the voltage/power supplied to your CPU, if i'm not mistaken :)

adding to eddy's reply,

udit, not all the reading's reported by a monitoring utility(m/u) are real, there are errors depending on the chip used be m/c & how the m/u inteprets them.

so its best to try the original utility that came with your m/c or 2 or more m/u like mbm, speedfan, sensorsview etc.

if the aux temp is genuine then it could be of your gpu.

^^MX4000 doesnt support temperature monitoring. I can guarantee that! Its only available on FX cards and higher... that too only certain cards. Lower end ones generally have either the probe missing or disabled. That is most probably the power mangement ICs as eddy mentioned.

because ur cpu is drawing a lot of power. it is fairly common for intels.
do not worry the pwm transistors are quite robust and can withstand temps of greater than 110C even ....

it is fairly common for the pwm temps to exceed the cpu temps on an intel platform. as far as i can recall from my intel days ...;) :ashamed:

Thank you so much.

Even on the A64 platform, I have seen my DFI board PWM IC temps go as high as 49C when fully loaded and OC'ed on a Venice 3000+ which is a 90nm processor. The PWM IC temps for the Venice 3000+ at stock normally hovers around 44C.

When trying a 130nm Newcastle processor on the same board OC'ed to lower speeds even higher PWM temps were obtained - as much as 54C. So all depends on the power draw of your CPU.
