when i went to lamington road for sony DVD writer , i was told prices for OEM and BOX pack, the cost of box being higher,
What is the difference between these two in packing, software packages given or manual , and what else

You dont get two front face lates in OEM you will just get black... And ofcourse you dont get the box...

Make sure the warranty period and also whether the driver CD's and other bundle is provided in the OEM (which is highly unlikely).

If the price difference is not much, I would suggest you get the box one itself.

Normally difference is in Warranty - brand name missing on product - packaging - and software bundles. And at times OEM have different firmwares.
