I am planning to buy 32 inch LCD TV for our new house, this will be my 1st LCD tv so wondering if someone who is using LCD for few yrs can you tell me if there is any quality loss after prolong use of LCD TV, what is the life of LCD TV in terms of screen burning.

I use LCD monitors for my work & change every 3 yrs as they start loosing quality in sharpness/contrast/brightness, is it same for LCD TV too???

well lcds ,crt, plasma tvs life depends on various factors for lcds the the backlight will start lossing it brightness and todays lcd tvs have a backlight life of around 50000hrs to 60000hrs.so if u watch 8 hrs a day after 10years the backlight brightness will be reduced to half.plasma and crts tv also suffer from brightness loss over time.what fails in most tvs be it lcd, plasma or crt is the electronic components like a transistor ,IC,etc.

10 yrs is more than what I need, I thought it to be 3-5 yrs so just wanted to confirm.

What about dead pixels on LCD TV & what kind of warranty is offered to cover dead pixels?

Compare 5 years to life we used to get on CRTs :P In my parent's home, we still use a 21inch TV bought in 1990. And it has no reduction in picture quality - looks same as it was bought. Those days things had huge life term. These days things are built to fall apart - that's marketing :P if it doesn't fail, why would u buy a new one sooner...ahh :P
