Storage Solutions What is the warranty for WD Green in India ?

I thought it was 5 years as stated at : WD Support / Warranty Services / End User / Warranty Policy and Limitations ( ENTERPRISE, DESKTOP, AND NOTEBOOK DRIVES IN INDIA HAVE A 5YEAR WARRANTY ).

But WD just responded by saying :

Kindly take note, WD Caviar Green hard drive is only cover 3 year warranty, if the box show as 5 year warranty please refer to the place of purchase or the distributors stated from the label.

It has been reduced to 3 years and it has been quite sometime since the warranty has been slashed from 5 to 3 years by both Seagate and WD.

Only the WD black drives carry 5 years warranty.

^ they may not have updated their site. Any yes WD green carries 3yrs warranty. But have you verified your exact warranty here :

Because some older drivers still comes with 5yrs warranty

previously, even if i got 3 years warranty on a hdd, if i sent a scan of the bill showing purchased in india, warranty was updated to 5 years.

waiting for response from wd.
