What is this connector?

Mostly harmless.

I have this Lenovo ethernet to something adapter, but I'm not able to figure out what the second (male) connector is. I no longer have the laptop with me to check.

The part number is sc10p42354. From my searching it seems to be "mini ethernet". Is that a thing?

Appears to be a proprietary connector for ethernet adapter for a device that was thin enough to not be able to accomodate a regular RJ45 jack.
They should have done a USB implementation instead but older lenovos were notorious for such proprietary ports.

You cannot really repurpose this for anything if that’s what you were hoping for :)

No, it was pretty clear this doesn't match anything I use, I was just curious what it was called.

He's right.
