5.7K for the WD sounds good... Will try to get one today from NP as i am going to that part of the city... Also approx price for a Sata card...

Hey, I'm quite sure market prices're higher for these drives. Ankit is getting a better price for them from some dealer. I suggest you shoot him a PM and enquire the prices. I may opt for a 1.5TB drive in a day or two.

@micorosoft: The prices you've quoted are higher. A 1TB drive costs around 3.9~4k INR (Seagate 7200.12 and the WD 10EADS), a 1.5TB costs around 6100~6200 INR and a 2TB drive costs in and around 10k.

yeah u guys are right ..........just came back from there

actually all of them have their different rates difference .2~.3k

but yeah the cheapest was ^^

seems ebay is the best place to buy such stuff?

Could you repost the prices again with shops. I just called up and got the following prices...

1.5TB 6K Approx

1TB WD Black edition 5K(Others are currently not in stock)

1TB External My book 4.8K

Switch, what're your primary purposes of investing in the new storage? The Black is for not meant for mass storage. Get the WD Green 10EADS. That should retail for 3.9k and thereabouts.

1.5 TB for 6k

Is pretty good !

talking about the BE of the HDD is not the best option at all....as others have already said -it's not meant for mass storage.also BE are much costly.

all depends on ur usage:)

Bought myself a WD Green 1.5TB for 5900 from SMC. The 1TB was running short in stock so the prices were high by 300-500 hence decided on the 1.5TB.

Thanks for all the help guys.

Cheers
