I am planning to upgrade my PC soon, and have already decided on the CPU and RAM.
1) CPU: Intel Core i7 3770K
2) RAM: Corsair Vengeance 8GB DDR3 1600MHz Desktop Memory (CMZ8GX3M1A1600C10) x 2 = TOTAL 16GB
I am now on the lookout for the ideal motherboard for this combo.
The cost should not exceed 20K for the motherboard alone.
I was thinking:
1) Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD5H (I do not know where I can buy this from)
2) ASRock Z77 Extreme 6
3) ASRock Z77 Extreme 9 (if available)
4) Asus P8Z77-V
5) Asus P8Z77-V-PRO
6) Asus SABERTOOTH Z77
I have no experience with either ASRock or Asus boards. However, my current mobo is a Gigabyte GA-EP45-UD3R, which I have been using since 2010, and it has been flawless, so I tend to trust Gigabyte.
ATX preferred (simply because I like the space offered by the bigger format, and my HAF-X case can easily handle anything upto E-ATX.
My main uses are: general web browsing, image editing, lots of movies (my baby daughter), office documents (Word, Excel), mild gaming.
I know I am looking at a lot of power for the above uses, but I will not be upgrading anytime soon after this, so I would like to be future-proofed.
What are your suggestions?
TIA
