Hi frnz,

frankly i dunno much @ lappy, but definately i want to buy a killer/slick/best config/sexy thing.
i came across with thread model Dell-XPS-M1210. gr8 config. but then i got T7200 config posted by Count_Down.

my requirements are : good speed / good memory may be upto 2Gb, DVD writer, hye, i can compromise on that can settle on DVD-combo., Bluetooth,Wi-Fi is must. USB,PCMCIA, etc. and 15.1", About Hard Drive again same can be up 100gb. but battery must be powerfull enough...

noe could you diggout somethin for me....?

Thanks,

Are you sure you want a 15 + screen ? I'd suggest you going for a 14.1 for better battery life.

go to dell.com and select Dell Inspiron 6400.

Get a 12" or a 14". You won't realize first but later on you'll appreciate the portability. Heavy laptops are a bane and horrid to The XPS 1210 is the best deal right now... by a very large margin.

if you are looking at the higher end market for laptops then i would suggest DELL only coz they hav the best build quality and awesome set of components matched together to yield a good performance :)

Give Acer(untill u are intrested in the Red ferrari laptop) ,HCL, Lenovo a skip.

HP and Asus do have some nice configurations out there :)

Give us a budget we might be able to help you out :)

I agree with amo. DELL is really right for you.

I highly disagree. Dell have definitely improved their products over last 2 years.
But in the high-end[1] laptop segment, nothing beats ThinkPad Txx series and
Panasonic Toughbooks. Unfortunately, ThinkPads are a tad more expensive in
India compared to what they sell for in USA.

[1] - The concept of a "high-end" machine is very subjective. For me, it's more
like a durable, sturdy and realistically featured machine with a good warranty
and support. I also prefer business-class simplicity over flashiness of a 'dude'. ;)
