what to check while buying 2nd hand NEXUS7

Hi, need quick advice on what to check. While buying a 2nd hand nexus 7, buying directly to night.

Check all ports are working.
Take headphones.
Check the sound.
Check the wi-fi. Browse the internet (from the tablet) & download a small file to confirm its working.
Ask if it is rooted.
If it is the 3G version - insert a SIM to see if that is working.
Check for bad pixels - change the wallpaper to a plain one and pixels.
Check for scratches on the screen.
