What ugrades for 15k to play NFS Shift?

Power supply 430W

This is my present Computer config...
I want to upgrade it as I wanna play NFS SHIFT 2..

My budget is 15,000/- (Rupees)

Any ideas on what to buy... Mainly help me out wit a reasonably priced graphics card that supports the game..

HD 6850 1GB for 9.5k and VX 450 @ 3.6k and another 2GB RAM DDR2 @ 1.5k

total: 14.6k
Upgrade the CPU only if its not a branded and good one.

Later upgrade the proccy and mobo with DDR3 memory.
 
don't u think it will bottleneck CPU.

secondly it would be better to wait for few months as new platforms r going to be launched.

If you sell your current CPU/mobo/ram/psu and can get 2-2.5k for it then you can get a HD5770 instead of a HD5670.

+1 .. OP can later upgrade his main system..
 
If i upgrade the power supply and i buy the 6850 will it run on my current motherboard...

Will the card run on the mother board???
 
yup. The CPU will surely be a bottleneck, but far better than a new rig with HD 5670 or 5770. And The CPU will be bottleneck for the framerates to raise above 60 or 70 in most games @ maxed out settings, which is more than playable. With a full system upgrade with HD 5670, the bottleneck factor is even lowered as the GPU is far more bottleneck and framerates would be like 20~25 with same settings. Ofcourse the frames will be around 90s with 6850 and new new CPU like i5 or PII, but thats not th point here.

(freame rates in indicated are just sort of example, and to show the relative performance of each suggested upgrades ) :)
 
which PSU u have?

for decent gaming experience u need HD5770.if u have a branded PSU then need not to buy one,otherwise buy corsair CX400.Asus M4A78LT-M LE is a good mobo for CPU's upto 95w.

HD5770/ ~7500

CX400 ~2450

Asus M4A78LT-M LE ~2600

Athlon II X4 640 ~4650

CORSAIR/Kingston 4GB ~2250

Total ~19450

Sell your current stuff and get some cash.
