Hey,

As the title says, what will happen if I plug in a X2 4400+ Toledo to a DFI SLI-DR (or Ultra-D) motherboard, both fresh from the market?

Cheers,

Karan

system will either boot or it wont. As simple as that

Joke apart. What do you really mean. You may need to update the bios if its one of the older stock. Thats it.

Either way you have a San Diego 4000+, so you could always use that to boot up should you encounter any problems with the newer CPU :)

Ask over at DFI Street forums (http://www.dfi-street.com) for more help.

In my case, my DFI did not have the BIOS updated for the Venice cores, yet it booted up flawlessly.

he does nto have SD yet AFAIK.

Nah DFI will boot fine even if it does not support the CPU unless board is DOA or decides to act up. You will need a floppy ready with the new bios to flash. Thats it.

The hell hole will open and demons will break loose and there will be a total chaos and the only way to stop it will be to return the source to the lord of the evil in his den and that would be my room ;)...
