I am looking to upgrade my Wifi Router for home.
My apartment is ~1800 sqft and I am currently using D-Link DSL-2750.
It will be used for TV, 2 Laptops, 2 phone, 1-2 security cameras and a NAS (need gigabit ethernet for it).

Could anyone suggest what's the best Wifi Router for Home for around Rs.2500-3500 range?

I just need plain router, where I can add the Ethernet input from my fiber modem+router.
Thanks for clarifying. I had to ask since your current router is ADSL. There are multiple options in these price range with gigabit ethernet ports.

TP-Link Archer A7/C7 (If you want to use OpenWRT)
TP-Link Archer C6 v3
D-Link DIR 1260. (I am using this router)
Tenda AC10 v3

Mercusys MR50G. Though it is 3300 on Amazon right now, you might get it for less than 3k during the Amazon Independence Day Sale.
Imo it is the only router that might be able cover your entire apartment.

I had returned this router and got the D-Link router. Range is not up to the mark imo. Better option for the OP will be to get 2 routers and set one as AP via wire.

Thank you. It's very helpful.

How is your experience with DLink 1260? why did you choose it over the others - if I may ask?

My experience with my Dlink 2750 has been quite good in terms of range and speed, although the Web UI feels really outdated.
What I read is that TP-Link gives much more value for what you spend compared to the other brands, so I was thinking of buying TPLink this time.
Have you tried Archer C6 or A7? which one would you buy among the 4 from your list above?

Also, Does OpenWRT have any useful benefit for home user? I remember reading about it 5-6 years back but now don't find much about its recent update etc.

Thank you! Yes I have also been looking at it because of it's specs - but this brand seems new and I want to go with something more well known as I just want to plug it in and forget about it.

I don't understand the Area Coverage rating of any of the brands - my current no-name wifi router that came from the service provider covers it quite well and the floor above, as does my DLink 2750. I used to get 1-2 bars on my phone from one block distance with my dinky little Belkin router without antenna I used 10 years back!

One thing that would be good to have is the link aggregation on the gigabit port, but I don't think it exists in any sub 5000/- router. Which router do you use by the way?

I'm using TP Link Archer C6 v3 currently.
Do you like it? how is the range?
I am considering this one also now D-Link DIR- 2150 AC2100 . It's available on Amazon for ~ Rs. 4100/-
Is there any other model that are very good in this price range?

I would suggest Tenda AC10

I liked its range and bought a 2nd one as well.

To me, this is the best value for money router which has full gigabit (WAN and LAN both)

I am satisfied with 1260. It's been running stable and there was no need to restart the router since I set it up. I got it for 1.7K and I selected it because it was comparable to Archer C6 v3 but cheaper. Moreover, I just use this router to extend my JioFiber Router Signals via CAT and as a gigabit switch for PCs inside the last room. It's just a dumb switch and AP for me.

If possible go for 2 routers and wire them with CAT. Range will be more satisfactory compared to any single router you get. All the options I suggested are decent (C7 / C6 v3 / AC10 v3 / DIR 1260) and will fulfill your needs.
The range is decent but if it's range that you're looking for then it's not for you.

Have you used both v2 and v3? The newer v3 has different structural design of antenna and doesn't have wifi on/off button.
I ordered one from Amazon and got v3. The range was average.
I have heard Tenda AC10 v3 and TP-Link C6 v3 are more of a down grade in terms of range but upgrade in everything else.

It might be good but I still feel not a single router will suffice your range requirements.

Can't say about Tenda but for C6, definitely. Tplink did this primarily to promote their One Mesh solutions.
To OP,
It was a difficult choice for me between C6 and MR 50G and the reason I swung to C6 was sheer aesthetics and less ports. C6 sits plush with the wall unlike MR50g with its spider design.. definitely an eyesore for me.
As @MadAxe suggested for range in exess of 1500 sq feet, MR50g is good to go. They have backend support from a reputed firm(can't recall the name, but a good one).
If your range concerns dealing with 2 floors (including the room where router is located), C6 does a decent job. Also it has Mu-Mimo so got it as a future proofing.

Thank you. I am also thinking of C6 for similar reasons. The new design of the C6 V3 is quite pleasing, even better than their more expensive AX series.
Lookins like some brands (esp. some spec-wise good models from Tenda) are targeting the routers for the young gamers and making them wacky.

Was thinking of D-Link DIR- 2150 AC2100 as it's got some very good reviews but Amazon jacked up the price by almost 50% before their independence day sale!
