er guys a day back the army rescued a little boy called prince but i still dont get the reason for it being headline news or being telecast live on TV ... i mean politicians started comin there :S ..and the kid got 2 lakhs in cash as well :S ...

what do u guys think.... worth the headlines pages ??? i thought it was one of those rescue operations which they frequently put on MAXx on AXN :rofl:
 
well star news too gave 5 lakhs frm there pocket........they showed the news for ard 18hours continuously....may b they paid becoz of high trp.......

nyways the only big deal i found was the luk of the child....notmany have survived such incidents............the child was bornluky.....i envy his luk.......... 7 lakhs at 5yrs age....... damn
 
Another example of excess of News channels leading to desperate measures...

To top it off, every 5 minutes the newscaster reminds the viewers that "remember, this Breaking News was first broadcast all over the world by so-and-so channel."

I mean WTF, it wasn't breaking news until u forcibly made it...
I think i'm gonna accidentally fall into a hole one of these days :p ...

Our government gives 2 Lacs to kids for being stupid !

I mean, yeah the kid was lucky and it would have been tragic if something had happened to him....but what was the big deal ??

He fell down a hole (which was so narrow that he didnt free fall all the 60 feet and break his bones). He was discovered instantly. He was supplied with oxygen (once the army people reached the place) and I am sure he was supplied with food as well (I guess the villagers dropped food down the shaft)....

It wasnt so bad. Ok, as a kid, he may have got scared and all that....but honestly, it was not such a big deal as what the media made out of it....

These are the times I absolutely hate the media (No offence Tracerbullet :p )....

Well what news channels did was sucky but what that child did was nothing less then extraordinary...

Try locking yourself up in a room for 24 hours... Now think about a 5 Yr old trapped 60 feet below ground level with insects all around in dark all alone... And not knowing weather he will be able to get out or not... Its scary shit... And i am pretty sure if it was an adult he would have died there within 12 hours out of fear...
 
sure, the child was gritty, and managed to survive a horrible experience. but that doesnt mean the media should use him to make money. this is just down right stupid...
 
Imagine 60 feet, well 60 feets equal a 4-5 story apartment. A adult would die out of fear down there. But it was the child innocence who saved him, that child might not be even knowing whts happenning with him. He might be having fun down there, instead of knowing the fact that he may die. n to be true, he sure was brave. But the publicity this Znews n Star News gave is Crap. Well i can see poster n banners in my city about this boy "Prince". Well this is Pure Crap.
 
And ok it was something xtraordinary. but the kid did get food and stuff. i mean, wat actually do village ppl need anyway ? us guys on the other hand, wud die if we dont hav access to our pcs for 50hrs ....

But still, it wasnt big enough for the headlines !!!

And guys think of it like this... The kid is so poor... its good that he got some money... Zee has financed his studies... So its good that ways...

Well that sure was scary stuff. But it was a hole that was made by boring machine.So it essentially packs the surrounding area very tightly so chances of insects or loose mud falling is close to nil. But the child grit was commendable. I guess other than for some times he did not even cry.

But the people who have jumped on to take their chance on this incident with the publicity they are getting for free really suck. But i guess its part of business. They can do some good image building exercise by doing their part. There was a good editorial on this in TOI. Free publicity in Print,Tv, Radio media for cool 1 lakh. also not to mention repeated publicity.

Guess TE should also do it....
