Why does Google list my site as ragaba.com/ while Yahoo lists it as www.ragaba.com ?

Any difference ? What is the signifance or the "www." . I've always wondered why there's a "www.yahoo.com" but the mail service is "mail.yahoo.com" .

Thanks.

Yes there is significance to the domain prefix, but not in your case. Basically what it does is tell the server what kind of information you're requesting. The server reads this and directs your traffic to the correct application or other server in it's domain that will offer you the services you request. If there is no domain prefix used, the server will base your request on what port the traffic is coming in on. So if you go to ragaba.com in your web browser, it will take you to the same place as www.ragaba.com. However if you go to ragaba.com in an FTP client, it will direct you to the FTP server on ragaba.com (if there is one).

Also, all domain prefixes are configured by the service provider. So in order for a prefix such as ftp.ragaba.com to work, that will need to be setup on the server-side saying this domain address needs to go to such and such place.
