Forum Feedback Whats the problem With having a Food Section??

Hell we can even hav a city meet where members themselves make the food and enjoy for a change..[/overambitious]

Ya- we have pizza meets and we add the chilli flakes/seasoning ourselves.

Also self-service when we order Pav bhaji, sandwiches or Dosa and juices/shakes- if you find a place to sit and eat your food in peace at my place.

About the idea of food section, its quite silly imo Just start a couple of threads to discuss recipies, hotels etc.

But we can have n no of discussions on food on the GT section but I dont want a separate section for that;

Like I had posted in the other thread.. a new section is created based on the flow of content. Its not like there are tons of food threads floating in that urgently require a new section.

Nobody is stopping you from creating food threads in GT either. And if a time comes where there are loads of food threads, a new section can be thought of.

Anyway, many of you seem to be forgetting that too many sub-forums spoil the TE broth . Lets not categorise to the extent that scrolling through the forum homepage becomes a chore.

Off late i've seen a lot of moderators acting on impulse and just closing threads at their whims and fancy with out considering the interest of the members..:huh:
I really dont understand the point of a few ppl standing and dictating while clearly the community or atleast a part of it thinks differently(in a genuine way)..
Coming to the point, Wat was the need to close the food section thread??i mean without even letting it run a day the mods just bang the thread close??
Really dont understand this TE & FE business..
I want to stay in TE and talk abt things that Atleast a decent majority is comfortable with, im posting in the right section then wat the problem??
If people are spamming clean the threads, ban the spammers, y block the way of Genuine members??
And those who want to go to FE will go...Wat the need of members parading inside threads and saying " Go to FE" and stuff..

Nothing of the sort. That thread was closed because it was in the feedback section and we do not encourage any sort of spamfest there which was where the thread looked like it was heading. Feedback section is intended only for site bugs though an occasional feature request is not frowned upon. If you wish to have a big debate do so in the General Talk section rather than in Feedback and once you all are decided maybe then create a thread here.

Anyways regarding the creation of a food section, If there are enough threads about the same the staff will consider creating a niche section but not just because everyone got in the flow after seeing one or two threads. If there is a sustained interest maybe but at the moment no. This is not an issue of tech vs non tech but we do not want any dead sections on TE.

Now you may use this argument against me and ask why we created the Auto Zone but that was after an extended discussion in staff (including admins) based on the request of one staff member. Exact contents I will not post here but needless to say there was enough justification in creating the section for a trial run.

As the staff mentioned earlier if there is enough interest we might create the section so all the foodies make sure you stay active :bleh:

And the reason the other thread was closed? Read through it. Some of you guys are using feedback threads just for BS spam, 1 liners, sarcastic comments. Nothing else.

Been happening a lot these days.

The auto section was created when we saw constant flow of car / bike related threads in GT.

That does not mean we can go on creating endless subsections.

Comeon, TE is in the end tech community. You are free to discuss anything irrelevant to technology in GT. Thats why that section is there.

When is someone coming up with demand for Toiletries or footwear section??

No seperate subforum for Food please, let the general forum bear those once in a month threads . Also the main thing this forum is good is because of all tech related stuff discussed, having seperate subforums for way offtopic discussions will just attract unintended audience .

A section for food on a technical forum is absurd. Why cant you post anything related to food in the General Talk forum? Its not that something related to food is posted regularly.

I am more for seperate sections for programming topics like C++, Java etc, but even they are not required as there are not much posts in the Programming section.

Feedback section topics are closed to avoid further irrelevant posts and spam, and this thread is again headed that way.

If you are upset about your feedback thread being closed, then sorry, you dont understand the meaning of this section then. If you want discussion and opinions, use GT.

Yeah right, and so we should create a section dedicated to it? How about a section for hair products, medicine, houses, clothes and underwear. All necessary for most people.
