The much leaked Web interface for WhatsApp is now live. As you may have imagined, this allows you to use your computer to send and receive WhatsApp messages. But, true to this app’s very obvious “mobile first” mantra, the Web client is acting simply as an extension of your phone.
Thus, all the messages still actually live on your handset, they’re just shown to you on the Web as well. So your phone needs to be connected to the Internet while you’re using WhatsApp Web on your computer, keep that in mind.

Allegedly this works officially for Chrome. Another glaring aspect, it does not support iOS citing limitation of OS.

Update/Edit: Not sure why it is limitation of OS; I m using Viber desktop client Telegram supports web interface.:smirk:

Here's a nifty trick to use Whatsapp on Tabs or a secondary mobile based on the web interface.

  1. Simply open - web.whatsapp.com in Chrome on the tab or mobile
  2. By default it will redirect you to www.whatsapp.com
  3. Simply select 'Request Desktop Site' and it will redirect you to the required website.
  4. You will then be greeted with the familiar page you see on your desktop alongwith the QR Code.
  5. Scan and continue as normal.
Devices tested - Nexus 7 2013 & Moto G2
