i had been hearing abt the successor to NForce4 -- something called C5 or similar:huh: dont remember.
Any news on that ,it was expected in oct so may be someone has sone news abt it.
its expected to have integrated 6200gfx na...........

Its already kindaaa out... There was something on Anandtech few weeks back... Check out the chipsets section...

Its not a successor, more like a complementary chipset to the nForce4. It adds onboard graphics. It was codenamed C51 , now officially known as the nForce 400/Geforce 6100.

The package consists of 2 chips instead of the traditional 1-chip designs on AMD motherboards - the nForce 400 series and the Geforce 6100. The Geforce 6100 as the name suggests handles the onboard graphics/PCI-E bus, the nForce 400 is a Southbridge handling HDD's, Ethernet ports, etc.

Is this so called nForce 400/Geforce 6100 much better than current
nForce Ultra & Sli-D now since it has 2 chips.

One which handles the PCI Bus and other handles HDD , Ethernet etc....

how much of a perf increase can be predicted over a nforce 4 chipset.

The two chips were necessary for the 6100 core. You obviously cant accomodate the 6100 core on the nforce4 chipset itself - hence the additional chip. Not that performance differs.

Well Lets all hope we get them in India soon. Since the news broke up that Nvidia are coming up with 6100/6150 chipsets, MSI was the first few to officially come up with the board details and claimed to lauch them as early as late october. The types of chipset, platform, and other tech specs can be found here Thats some old info just when the chipsets were launched. Havent been in touch lately. Also since MSI has no less than average sales here, expect them to distribute these boards in India pretty quick. They came up with the MSI RS480M2 in india pretty quick by our expectations and lets hope they do the same with the nvidia counter parts. These boards will be for s754 processors too, so still there is hope for people with s754 processors.

Also Biostar has already made them available as early as 23 September withing a few days when we offically came to come abt the same. They are available on newegg already. And its still in stock as of now or so it says :clapping: for as cheap as $61 and $75 :S Check them out here.
Now if Mercury comes again rebadging Biostar boards under their brand and makes it available in India, it would be another icing on the same. and make a even better option for the mobo+processor+grafix all withing 12-13k Kinda a better option than the MSI RS480.

Everything is talking to the wall unless we actually get these in India soon.

i guess it will take atleast 4-5 weeks more to even listen abt this in india. The dealers arent much into research of upcoming things unless companies approach them foor that or people like us go & ask for them explicitly.

Well I know what typical attitude end dealers have and kinda refreshed those memories in my lammy visit after a long time day before yesterday. But I have seen that techtree does a real good job about the launch of products from different manufacturers in India. Nothing against techtree or in favor of techtree, but they really do a good job, they may be paid or not, but the kinda early first hand info of the latest models, IT products, hardware and other things in India are quite good. If you have been in touch with techtree, i dont need to give any explanation. All updates from Acer, Asus, MSi , Powercolor, BIG , and the list is endless have been informed to many by them. So i assume the same with these MSI and Mercury.

Hope these New motherboards come here soon.
BTW i already got a DFI Lan Party but still for those who always like motherboards with onboard graphics.

@Sourabh - Thanks for the info regarding MSI & biostar.
biostar is really cheap at $61 & $75.
Hope , Mercury comes with rebadged Biostar boards.

^ Krypton (Priya Group company) used to rebadge the Biostar, not Mercury. They were a much much decent choice compared to Mercury.

lol so confusing mercury(kobian) amd krypton. Whats even more surprising is both mostly use RED pcb's mostly..hahah!

all stupid cheapo chinese kits from same a source being packaged with different names. I generally stay away from these brands. Mora one of the shittest ones
