hi
i'm looking for this mic

Can someone tell me where to purchase one, someone who can ship it anywhere in India :)
any help would be appreciated :ohyeah:

Where are you located?

Every second shop in Lamington Road stocks it, and it's available at most music and professional audio (band party wallas) shops in every city. Heck, it was available in Calcutta 5 years back.

Bajaao.com also has 'em, for shipping to back of beyond places. 4.5K, not a bad price for the '57.

Quick heads-up, I noticed Amarbir has started stocking Rode mics. The NT-1A is a killer mic for its price class, and their entry level condensors are pretty good for vocals. I know Bajaao carries Samson mics, but mics that cheap usually end up sounding cheap too.

thanks .i don't live in mumbai.will check bajao
i needed this for some home recording-need to do some acoustic guitar :)
don't want to spend on a RODE ,as i'm leaving the country soon.

SM57 doesn't work well on acoustics/IMO.

You'd be surprised, but I have some excellent results using two electret mics (Ahuja, no less, about 2K each) in an XY config. For a bigger sound I use them in spaced pair config. Very big sound with the latter, and a little smaller image but more accurate with the former. They aren't too sensitive but that is not a bad thing for a project studio considering ambient noise. They also don't have the proximity effect of dynamic mics like the '57, so can be placed close to the guitar for the wooden body tone. I like to mix in a bit of piezo sound depending on the song.

yea i've tried those ahujas once.a band had those..i think shure should do the job in my case, coz what i'm recording is just a dummy.i'll purchase a new mic,a specific one for that when i purchase my new rig(check signature) .rest my Roger Nicholas eq zindabad :)

and it all comes down to mic placements when recording guitar through SM57.i've done it before too , true that condenser mics are be better with their frequency range but i need not spend much for recording a 5minute work-i wish i had someone with this mic so i could do it for free
and freq graph of SM57 is pretty good its a versatile mic and almost every pro studio where i've been has these.
