where to buy a sewing machine

guys , i need a sewing machine for my mother but am not able to get it .I have also searched ebay ,but they r selling certain Chinese machines,,the one from telebrands doesnt seems to reliable.Can u suggest me which one to buy and from where to buy?
 
Singer is a reputed brand. I have that at home from about 30 years. still works.

buying one depends on your budget though. where are you located? ask some tailor where to get good machine from, and he might oblige you.
 
Decide first if you are gonna buy one with a motor, or you want a manual machine. Motors can be fit in manual machines also, but might appear clumsy and do not have other perks.

And, it would be better if you visit the electronics showrooms in your area and find out. Like 6pack mentioned, your local tailor would be best guide. Usha and Singer are reputed brands, as far as I know.
