I am pretty sure that they must be selling unlocked pieces. Btw, it is called HTC Dream or Tmobile G1 :)

in delhi, gaffar would be the best bet. i somehow find the phone quite ugly.

its not that awesome in looks as iphone...but believe me, its better in all other areas, be it camera, keyboard applications, OS etc....

thanks for the info...but the website list that any guarantee provided is that of the manufacturer....but when HTC doesn't provide this model in India, will guarantee be available on this ? and how can they sell iphone legally when they have no contract with Apple ?

And yes guys, any comments on price tag of 25,000 + vat of 4 % for google phone / HTC G1

Ok i checked Guffar nothin here...they dont know rat's shit abt the android mobile.

P.S- Iphone 3G is goin real cheap at guffar ( 24K)

^^Is that price for a brand new iPhone 3G ?

Btw, a contract-free G1 (HTC Dream) is priced at $399 plus taxes in US. 25k is too high IMO.

well, they will be grey market pieces. so you wont get any warranty from htc. you though might get what is called "dealer's warranty" with the phone.

same feelings here.....25 K is too high.....would be awesome in somewhere around 20 K.....

Friend saw the G1 at some store in Heerapanna for 24k.

Its downright fugly and the OS is half baked. The only people who would probably use this phone are Google's beta testers. 70% of the stuff doesn't work out of the box and you'll need lots of knowledge to get it working right with Indian operators.

I would have been interested if it was in the 18-20k range :) Android does show a lot of promise.

the dollar is more than rs50 these days. add the taxes. i dont think 25k is too much on those basis. there are obviously margins involved too.

but 25k for THAT phone, thats too expensive.
