I am on look out for safety shoes ( the ones used at construction sites). Tried ebay but not comfortable ordering them without trying them out. I heard there is brand called tiger but i have not come across them any where locally.

TIGER & KARAM both are good,

I personally use Karam, they are very comfortable,

They cost around Rs.800-1200.00 with and without ankle support, both are available in Black/Brown Colour

Just check out your local Industrial Market, should have people selling there,

BTW Which city are you from?

I use Tiger shoes and believe me it's torture!!

Make sure you get a gel insole by drscholl.

the first weeks, after wearing for 10 hours a day, I almost cried of the PAIN!

I don't have flat foot or anything!!

So if u have flat foot, stay away from these!

Alternately you can look for CAT shoes, have seen it at some shops

And try hardware shops! They usually have.

Buy steel toe CATS.the most comfortable and reliable safety shoes.you will have to pay double but your feet will thank you everyday and they will last longer too!

Did you mean CAT as in Caterpillar? They cost like 4~5k a pair init?

Liberty makes excellent safety shoes at decent prices. The ones without the ankle support costs 1.2k and the ones with then cost 1.6k.

Take a look at their range here:

If you still cannot find one there, let me know. Will buy a pair and ship it to you. That said, safety shoes may not be stocked at every other outlet. These are mostly found at places wherein there are heavy industries such as the iron and steel industry etc.

I am curious to know, why do you need a pair of safety shoes?

If you need the rough look - DocMartens.

If you really need safety shoes - with steel caps - either Karam or Liberty as suggested would do ( I have used both).

I also second the above suggested use of Dr.Scholl AirPillow insoles for comfort.

Try the industrial safety supplies shops. They would stock them or at least can definitely source them for you.

You can also try http://www.orazosafety.com/

I've owned the Picus model for almost three years now and they're still in tip top shape. And I find them quite comfortable.

No stores to try them out in though.

Get a pair of Caterpillar steel toe boots.

Yes,they are expensive but will last a lifetime.

I am using one for 5 years(non steel toe)and they still look like day 1,once polished.
