Each of those "ports" will have connections for 3 or 4 SATA drives so effectively you have 12-16 drive supportI am looking for a PSU for a NAS, so number of Sata ports are important. The Antec HCG-Gold series has only 4 sata ports which seems to be on the low side. My current Season X-750W (SS-750 KM3) has 5 sata ports.

Well, the PSU model that I originally purchased was a Seasonic 1200w Platinum which had a weird issue after prolong usage, whenever I started the system, it would instantly shut off and didn't powered the system at all but the system was working fine with another PSU. So, I got it RMA'd the first time. The replacement unit faced the same issue again after some time and I had to RMA it again but this time, the model was not available anymore (maybe because of this issue or something) and they offered to send 850w Titanium one instead. I didn't wanted to wait that long so agreed to it and since then, I haven't faced any issue with 850w one. So, I think it was for the best after all.@MATHReX Thanks. I am keeping an eye on the drives and they are behaving fine at the moment. I think reseating the cables in the PSU helped.
However, if this issue comes up again I will consider your PSU. By the way why did you have to RMA the PSU?
