Where to get a legit battery replacement for HP Pavilion 14? DIY or not?

Hey everyone,

I’ve got an HP Pavilion 14 laptop and the battery has started acting weird — it drains from 100% to 0% in about a minute, and charges from 0% to 100% just as quickly. I ran the HP diagnostics tool, and oddly enough, it says the battery is in “OK” condition. Clearly, it’s not.

I’m looking to replace the battery but I’m stuck deciding how to go about it:

I don’t want to go for a super cheap third-party battery that might not last or could be unsafe.

At the same time, I don’t want to pay a premium at the HP service center.

I found some batteries on TPS Tech — does anyone know if that’s a legit and reliable site for laptop batteries?

Also, is replacing the battery on a Pavilion 14 something I can do myself? I have basic tech skills, but I’ve never opened up a laptop before. Is it simple or should I avoid the hassle?

Appreciate any recommendations or advice from anyone who’s done this before!

A quick Reddit search shows many good reviews about TPS Tech, with some negatives too, mostly about delivery delays or packaging — but overall, they seem to be legit . Just double-check the warranty and return policy before buying.

It is always recommend to get O.E.M batteries, since they have good service, and might have warranty coverage too.

However, there are two companies in my mind that come during third party batteries .

One is LAPCARE, with nominal charges of 1-2k for hp pavillion 14 with 1 year of warranty, this is a great choice .
The second one is TECHIE, it is the same as Lapcare.

It depends on the model of the laptop. If you can, share the model number.
Also, if it is possible, just do it, why pay premium on things you can do yourself ?
Just be at your wits while doing it.

Hope this helps.
So it's dead? Any idea where to get orignal battery?
Most probably, the only way to get original battery is from hp itself.
