Hi,
I haven't used DTH, but I also have a Dell Monitor (Dell S2409 24" Full HD Monitor), and I had all the intentions of connecting my Wii to my monitor.
Now, DVI takes in a "digital signal" and I don't think any DTH provider gives a digital signal. All DTH signals are "Analog". You won't find a digital signal from any DTH in India (as far as I know).
Now, since my Wii has a component signal (component cable - 5 wires), my only solution to this was getting one of these....
"Component to VGA" Rs. 300 to 350.
this...
VGA female to female gender changer Rs. 100.
and 3 of these....
RCA female to female coupler Rs. 50 each (gold plated ones).
Once I had these, all I had to do was connect my
Wii Component Cable to the "Component to VGA" cable using the RCA female to female couplers and then connect that to my Dell Monitor's Analog cable using the "VGA female to female gender changer"
and wallah....Nintendo Wii @ 480p in all it's glory
hyeah:
May be you should do the same, but make sure your incoming connection is a "Component" one and not regular composite. Also, that takes care of video, the other two red and white sound/audio connections went to my amplifier (local amplifier with my Sony speakers) and that took care of sound
Edit: Another
very important thing....make sure your Dell monitor supports a "
Component signal - YPbPr". To check that, go to your Monitor Main Menu and in the Color Settings menu, change the "Input Color Format" from "RGB" to "YPbPr". RGB is the standard computer format, and "YPbPr" is the Component Display format. If you're monitor is capable of handling "YPbPr", then you're all set.
Here's a picture to help you out....
It's the best I could help. If there indeed is a DTH provider that provides a digital signal, then go ahead with that
Otherwise, this is your only option
