Which 2.1 Speaker system ?

My word of advice..Never buy some cheap 2.1 speakers system(esp. zebronics) if your short of cash or in a hurry ! my woofer has gone nuts after jus few months of usage and there would be no point in get it repaired by zebronics ! afterall i bought the damn thing for 550 bucks ! the'll probably charge me for repairs or give me a replacment of the same thing..

SO,this time i wanna get it right..

Need to get the best 2.1 available for under 1.8k(plz stick to it!)

Usage: MOVIES,MUSIC & occasional gaming..

prefer performance & reliability over looks..

Open to options from Creative, Altec-Lansing & Logitech..

Each of them offer a variety of 2.1 models but i'm not sure how many are actually available here(chennai) and how good they all are?

wld be nice if it had a headphone jack..

so plz suggest the best among 2.1 speaker lot..

do specify the model no. & its current price if possible..

I'd have suggested the AL VS4121 if the budget was a li'l flexible; :D

It is the successor to the legendary ATP3;

A Creative Inspire 2.1 [M2600 IIRC] fits the bill and serves ur purpose I guess; :)
 
nah, i think the inspire should be better

EDIT: logitech R20 should also be good. DONT TOUCH THE SBS! VS 2421 not that good either. havent compared it with The inspire though
 
I am using Logitech R-20.

They sound good but i fell BASS is more but overall its decent enough.

also Try Creative SBS-370

best thing is to listen yourself & then buy.
 
ive been using creative inspire 2.1 since 4 years and not 1 problem... i beleive the version of speakers that i am using is out of production and the Creative Inspire 2.1 [M2600] mentioned by gannu are in its place. You really need to listen to these and choose accordingly. We would naturally praise them as we have them lol...
 
Creative Inspire 2.1 ... No Doubt Abt it ..

Frnd has it, and does the job pretty neatly.

i listen to those speakers nearly everyday.. and mst admit they do amaze me for the price tag they got.

Just take a small demo before u buy..

take some cds with u.. and u shd be pretty satisfied i guess. :)

even it's 'lil bro' the 2421 costs 2.3k !!

Lol. where do u intend i go to??creative's showroom? i will mostly be getting it from some shop in ritchie stree(chennai) ,where their main motive is to sell stuff to ppl asap..chances of them allowing me to test the speakers right there?!!

that's the main reason i'm asking you guys..you might be having the above mentioned models and could help me out with my decision..

guess,my options are down to the fllg:

Creative Inspire 2.1 (M2600) ~ 1.8-1.9K
Logitech R-20 ~ 1.2K
Altec Lansing BXR1121 ~ 1.1k

Also have the Logitech Z4 in mind.Not sure about its pricing & availability though..

So which one should i go ahead with????

Yeah, i don't like the Bass mostly drum bass produced by R-20.
Want speakers to Focus more on mids and treble. with bass i feel uncomfortable. but a quick equalizer setting tone downs the Bass levels.

Brought it a month ago for Rs.700(in some scheme).
can't comment on peers as i haven't heard them. here i can audition any speaker from dealers & and they happily agree for test run. wonder why you can't do it in chennai

will try testing it before i buy..
and in wat scheme did u get the R-20 for 700 bucks? the current price is 1250..
any schemes running for Creative speakers ? :D

Jus hooked up my Creative M2600 !

And its Frkn awesome !!!!!!

Packaging is light years ahead of my crappy zebby!

First my jaw-dropped looking at it(satellites look killer!) and then my ears went berserk listenin to it!!

And the sub-woofer..ENJOY'D GETTIN THUMPED !

The wired remote is a nice touch too..

So all those looking for budget 2.1 speakers..buy this!!

Damage :Rs.1650 VFM !
