+1 For Corsair 240GB Force Series. Got good reviews in Anand.

Guess u would have read the reviews in Anand. THere was some firmware issues in the Crucial Drives. Not sure whether the latest firmware upgrades have resolved them.

Corsair's Force SSD Reviewed: SF-1200 is Very Good - AnandTech :: Your Source for Hardware Analysis and News

Not the 240GB version. They did a review for the 100GB version.

But both are SF-1200 based i guess. Also the F-100 shipped with the 3.0.1 firmware (Which was supposed to be OCZ exclusive). So just make sure the F-240 ships with the same version.

Else stick to the Vertex. OCZ has a deal with Sandforce and should get firmware revisions earlier than other drives.

IIRC Crucial still has firmware issues according to Anand's site.

The reason i recommended Corsair was Prime had a listing. So i guess there would be local support. Not sure whether OCZ has local support for their SSD lineup.

ok so Crucial is out

leaning towards Vertex 2

Isn't Tirupati supposed to be the distry for OCZ? I'm not sure if they support SSDs though.. you could ask 'em.
Else get a bunch of Intel 80GB g2's and RAID them :p

what about warranty?
None that you may avail here but hey just send it to the Taiwan office and you have a replacement. :D

I don't think Tirupati might take SSDs for RMA. THey don't do it for power supplies either since they have not been launched in India officially.

I don't trust RAID, SLI & CF anymore
