I want to buy a 32GB Pen drive (64GB if price is good). I know that many people give importance to data transfer speeds but it is not at all important here. I won't be using the pen drive on a daily basis and most probably it will be used with a digital photo frame to display pics on its screen. So in all probability, the pen drive will be always stay dormant in the frame.
But yes the pen drive has to be reliable and should be able to retain data for long. No bad quality (proven to fail) ones.
And it goes without saying, would like it to be priced reasonably.

Would suggest anything actually. Chinese ones are notoriously slow and have a laughably bad outer casing, but are quite reliable when it comes to holding data.

Would vote for corsair if you dont mind spending like 1.25 to 1.5 times the likes of sandisk / kingston.

Corsair then Sandisk. Keep a extra backup somewhere else too. Sandisk RMA is on the spot. Avoid Transcend as you may need to wait for several months if it goes for RMA

@babhishek, try asking the Transcend service centre guys, I had given a 4 GB pen drive and 32 GB mini sd card for RMA in Dec, just received confirmation from the site that they are ready for delivery!

If you are buying from Flipkart( or other reliable sources that don't sell duplicates), then a simple Sandisk cruzer blade 32gig should be fine. But they are noticeably flimsy plastic make, Corsair would be sturdier, faster and costlier. I guess you would be using it occasionally so doubt if the expense is warranted.

I was looking forward to buy a pen drive myself to copy those odd serials and movies to watch them on the TV. Strangely enough, Corsair's Voyager is down low on WhoRatesIt's list! I had a Voyager 4 GB when it had arrived at the Indian markets but some idiot flicked it! :(

Now that I have a bunch of USB 3.0 ports on my motherboard, I decided to get a USB 3.0 male-female extension cable (from eBay) and the Sandisk Extreme 16GB USB 3.0 drive. This drive will max out the read-write speeds on a regular USB 2.0 port! A friend

Here's the best part - we would expect eBay prices to be generally a notch cheaper than the Flipkart pricing but this is the opposite here!

Flipkart - Sandisk Extreme 16GB USB 3.0 - Rs. 1250 inc. of shipping

eBay - Sandisk Extreme 16GB USB 3.0 - Rs. 1400 inc. of shipping

With a 7.5% discount, the Flipkart one still turns out cheaper!

EDIT: Chuck that! Got the 32GB variant from eBay. Ended up Rs. 10 cheaper over Flipkart after using a coupon! :P

Nice deal, but still excessive for a photo frame USB drive that would be removed only occasionally for transferring new photos.

Of course, I wasn't suggesting the OP to buy one of these! That would be an overkill. I just thought I'd share what I came across yesterday evening. :P

I think that Ebay has increased it's fees recently. Hence sellers have increased prices a lot now. Prices on Ebay were already high before. Now they are even higher.

@vyral_143

My initial plan for the pen drive was for digital photo frame but we realized that the frame is more of a white elephant and not going to get used. I am in fact planning to sell the frame in few days.
So never bought anything.
