Please suggest me a cheap and best solution to connect 4 devices to a USB hub viz., Microsoft optical desktop receiver, an optical mouse, a hardware usb key, and a bluetooth adapter. I dont think laser printers will have any problem though, but to be on the safer side i have decided to use them with the onboard port...

how about getting this ?. Anything better ?

My motherboard has one more internal USB header. I think it would be better if i can get a connector which can handle 4 ports as in the case of the above stated USB hub like this... please suggest which of these is the best.....

I am using the belkin and it works fine for a laptop . Be aware that it has short cable which not be usefull for a desktop.

But what about getting the USB back plate ?

Is anyone using one like this and is it any better than a usb hub ?. Please tell me where to get it in Chennai ?

For using a back plate USB you must need 2 more usb header in your motherboard. But in most on mother board have only 2 usb header, out of which 1 is connected to you front panel usb. and if there is any 6 in 1 card reader already added to the pc then no USB header left. then you have to purchase another usb header extention.

Look at the image. But if your motherboard have extra usb header then no problem. Go for it.

Here is the picture of USB header.

Thanx guys, i got it and it works fine.... Btw there is only one spare USB header in my motherboard, the other is used by the front panel.

Is there anyway to convert this bracket into a front panel port since those which come with some cheap cabbies are not very good at handling portable hdds....
