I am planning for a new graphics card in the Geforce 6600GT series(PCI-E). Need your help to decide which brand to go for. This is the list which I have shortlisted.

1. Asus Extreme N6600GT Series 128MB (EN6600GT/TD/128M)
Heat sink looks pretty decent.

2. Gainward PowerPack! Ultra/1960PCX 128 MB (Not GS)
Heat sink looks very fragile.

3. Leadtek WinFast PX6600 GT TDH Extreme
or WinFast PX6600 GT TDH

4. XFX GeForce 6600 GT 128MB DDR3

5. Gigabyte GV-NX66T128D

The Gainward GS GLH is not available at preset in NP, Delhi. I will not be OC them , so which one will be best at stock speed and a good HSF ?

if not a gainward gs glh then leadtek by all means. but if warranty and availablity are a factor xfx is your man.

The leadtek is great. Comes with a nice game bundle too. Only downer is its not dual DVI like the XFX. If that doesnt matter to you, get the leadtek. It runs a lot cooler than xfx cos it has a better designed HSF.

I was able to find the Gainward Golden Sample DDR3 128 MB for Rs. 9900 and the 256MB at Rs. 11600, is that a decent price for the two ?

Will the Gainward be the best option?

256Mb on a 6600gt isnt worth it. Gainward makes good cards though the support might not be the best that you get. I'd still recommend Leadtek and XFX over it due to the support issue.

I second that go leadtek....My 6800GT has been a peach...downclocked it now to 375 permanent cause of oncoming summer etc...else it was on a permanent OC @ 390 MHz..
plus u gotta love the mutha heatsink.....now thanks to the hyper 48 I have a kilo or more of copper in my rig :bleh:

In what context is the Gainward support poor ? Do they take long in replacing faulty cards ?

Yea their distys here aren't known for the best of the service when doing rma or servicing the cards. Plus they normally don't stock a lot of cards so replacement takes time.

Considering the fact the service takes time, and I am willing to wait for the extra time for the card to be serviced (if incase something goes wrong;) ), will the Gainward be the best option ?

Still think leadtek would be better...

ofcourse asus and msi would be ideal if u wanna pay the premium!!!

My vote is for leadtek.....
The pricing is competetive..8500 bucks...
3 years warranty....... good
game bundle..... Splinter Cell- Chaos theory (WOW), POP- The warrior within.... (i know u want the two thrones.... but....)

huh? i thought only big sold their 6600gts for 8.5k. Leadteks are around the 10k mark.

My mind is still going in favour of the Gainward GS GLH....:S

Any Gainward owners faced any service issues till now....??
