Graphic Cards Which AGP Graphics card to buy ?

This is for my friend.

RiG Config -
AthlonXP 2000+ / 2400+
ASUS A7N266-VM SE with AGP 4x Slot (now using a 5200 card)
DDR266 512MB RAM (single) recent update

Which Graphics card to go for ?

  • Brand NEW AGP 6200 128MB
  • 2nd-hand AGP 6600GT 128MB
  • or any other suggestion
 
Ofcourse the 2nd-hand AGP 6600GT 128MB within warranty would be a good buy, depending on the condition...or u cud streach to get ur hands on 7300gt agp.
 
Saling in the same boat ASUS A7N266-VM SE with AGP 4x Slot -Athlon 2000+ 512 MB DDR Ram + 9600 AGP- Not able to decide

1. Wether there will be real increase in graphic performance with a 6600GT AGP ?

2. Or to sell this for whatever & get a AM2 Socket MSI-K9NGM2 MB & dual core AMD X2- 3600 Dual Core Both for 10000 plus 1x512 DDR2 for about 2.8k. Thus form a new comp just now & buy a 7600 GS later when money available.

That is my point.

I heard that there is no performance increase for AGP 4x platform above 6600... Bottle-neck problem.

so looking for a 6200 / 6600.

But, want to know which one will be the best ?

that is not true buddy..i moved over from 9800 pro to X800XT..there was a world of difference...
as far as u have a decent CPU and about 1GB of RAM...ur GFX card will single handedly detemine ur gaming performance...

someone was selling their 6800GT here on TE, for 7.5k or so...just close ur eyes and go for that...u can upgrade in Q1 07...
