if ur planning to spend 6900rs on the speakers. y not just add another 1000rs & get the mx5021.

I would add one more vote for the MX.

The PT don't say, but they're basically the same as the FX, far as I can see from a design perspective.

The Fx crosses the subs over at about 200Hz. This specification is missed out in the PT spec sheets, which makes me suspect they've stuck to it and won't mention it in order to avoid criticism.

A sub crossover that high is a problem, as a lot of the speech and upper bass will emerge from the sub. It is totally unnatural to listen to - we have a set of FX in the office with the sub in one corner, and the satellites sound tinny and the sound has no projection or focus.

Anyway it's your money and your decision, but this is just my POV.

Get the MX5021... have heard the FX6021. Doesn't sound as good as the MX5021. That line array of 1" drivers is no way close to the output quality of the 5021 satellites with dual 3" drivers.

ow welll prime told me the 6021 series has been discontinued , whats the best price in mumbai for the mx 5021 , i guess my last option is to consider those

I too am planning to buy an Altec Lansing FX4021. Anyone here have any experience with it?

Also whats the price and any online store where I can buy it?

y wd u wanna go for a set which u NEED to ask abt regarding its performance, and not buy a set which nearly EVERYONE is voting for...???

My prime reason for purchasing a MX .. even at a staggering price of 9600/- ( The Delhi dealers were making Hay at that time.. )was cuz i didn wanted anything which wd leave me cribbing and looking at ppl's MX set and saying "Damn, that set is just abt one grand more and still mine whimpers in front of MX"...

If u get the point abhi .. nice and good.. if u want to try ur hand at the practical aspect of the above mentioned theory.. ur call ..
Ofcource the budget matters.. :)

dont flame me for this, i havent shopped for speakers for the last 4-5 years, but at that time ATP3 was a very good set of speakers...are they obsolete now???saw them a few days ago in NP, delhi, so its not discontinued.

my budget is around 5ish , slightly pushable , i cud think of the 5021 if it was in the 6ish range , 7800 is kinda far fetched

does anybody have any opinions on the 4021 ?

Its either MX or ATP ... thats the way to look at it ..
both are leaders in their respective fields..

I dont think u wd get same classy reviews for any other 2.1 speakers ..

Maybe 5.1 speakers then ...??
