Which amp ?

I am looking for stereo amplifier for my computer ..... budget is 20k, which is already too stretched so can't increase it anymore ....

currently i am looking at Marantz 4001 which is around 16k and is 2x40w RMS

then Norge 1000 which is 9k and power output is 2x125w RMS

what do u guys suggest ??

EDIT: missed one thing i am planning to use them with JAMO 408 :)

u can also look for denon PM-500E 45x2@4 ohms costs 16000.

What's your source btw? It'll make sense to invest some quid in a decent DAC if its a PC.

How much are you paying for the S408's?

Oh I should have figured, when I was looking, Jamo stopped 408 production, and replaced them with the crappier 406's :P

@ Rahul - Norge is an insult for those fab speakers, take Chaos's NAD for an extra 13k, he'll buy himself a Mark Levinson solid state or something :lol:
 
i guess i will take a demo of NAD and then decide ..... most prolly i will go with norge :) ......

@anish .... i am trying to convince him :D .... lol

source is auzentech 7.1 DTS connect, which is decent enuf i guess :) ......
 
^ Yep that's good, don't compromise on the inter-connects though get something decent.

And seriously, the NAD and Marantz will sound a LOT better on those Jamo's, don't fall for RMS power, the Jamo are 89db/w/m IIRC and the 50W/Channel is more than enuf to drive them.

by interconnect u mean wires right :-/

i have no idea about wire ..... wat do u suggest ?? anyways branded stuff or wat ??
do u know the price of NAD c320BEE ??
 
^ Depends where you look. If you fine with buying grey I think it should be around the 16k mark.

Interconnects are wires that will connect your source to the inputs on the amp. For speaker wire settle for regular OFC will do the job, try bundling in Monster interconnects (the cheapest 'decent' option) for free with the amp ;)

92dB/W/m @6 ohm. Even a 25watter is more than enough :rofl:
 
hey guys how are Yamaha amplifiers ?? better than norge ??

models are RX-V361 135wx5

RX-V359 110wx5

HTR-6030 135wx5

these can work in stereo configuration right ??
