hi everybody

i use a canon power shot A560 7.1mp....

dont have much knowledge about digicam n batteries....

plz suggest some good rechargeable batteries....
also does brand & type of batteries we use make any difference....??

For your digicam, you will need at least 2000 mAh rated NiMH batteries. These days you can get 2300 mAh, 2500 mAh and even 2700 mAh batteries.

Regarding the brand, I normally steer clear of Sony and the older Sanyo types because the market was at one time flooded with duplicates. Less chance of duplicates with non-commodity brands like Uniross etc.

The Sanyo eneloops are good as suggested already. But I would be wary of buying these from anyone but an authorised dealer because I have been suckered by duplicate Sanyos and Sonys in the past. I haven't seen eneloop duplicates yet but manufacturing eneloop duplicate sleeves should be easy enough.

thanks for ur help guys.will either go for sanyo eneloop or unicross.

what about the charger....which one should i get...??

what about the memory card.....i contact the seller and he said i dont need a bill to claim warranty....he just told me to register the product on transcend website...to claim warranty.

is the price good.....?

whats the market price for this card..?

err, transcend sd cards usually have warranty only through you dealer from whom you got the product. am not so sure where you will claim warranty in case it goes bad.

There is a wide variety of charger out there. Simple chargers start from about 200 bucks but you must budget upto 24 hours for charging regardless of what they claim. In the middle category you can get a 4-5 hour charger like Uniross xpress 700. Don't know how much it is now but used to be around 800 a year or two ago. Still better is the uniross sprint that charges in 90 minutes. And some latest chargers charge in 15 minutes.
So it is your call on how much you want to spend. These days I use the Koday 620 which takes 24 hours but I don't mind because I have two sets of batteries.

By most statements I have heard from dealers, Transcend seems to be having serious problems handling warranty replacements. Kingston seems better equipped. By the way, Kingston is handled by the same Accel that handles Seagate.

the seller is ready to replace the card if anything goes wrong....he said i can claim warranty from transcend directly or else can send it to him and he will replace it

so should i go for it.....cos as Emil said there is problems with warranty replacements...

I know dealers who complain they are getting replacement from Transcend only after weeks of constant follow-up. Customers have to wait till then. They say even local brands like iBall give fast replacements.

Emil is spot on, I have a Fujicell 2800Nimh battery/charger & it takes eternity to charge! Aprox 24 hrs is a given. Go for something faster!

Also, SDHC Ultra3 or extreme are good. Make sure they are class 6.

SDHC-Secure digital high capacity, it could be sandisk/transcend/kingston.

Class 6 makes it faster.

I am having a normal SD 1Gb card in my 10mp Digi Cam & its pathetically slow in capturing pics.

^^ Thanks....:)

it is a standard charger.

according to its manual it takes

10 hrs for 2100mAh cells for full charge and

12 hrs for 2700mAh cells.

the AA set of eneloop batteries are really great. used them without charging, it had a mfg date of mar08 means a year old, but hv shot more than 50 pics till now with lot of zoom in and out and lot of reviewing clicked pics...:)
