obviously 8800gt ... if u can over-clocked it u can easily reach just a few FPS behind that of 8800gtx which is almost double or more than double in price aspect

gtx is not double.. it is for a marginally a higher price...

the GT will reach close to if not match the GTX. It retails for between 14 nd 16k.. nd is a real good buy at the price point

^^^ GTX is priced exactly double here in India. There is obviously no point spending that kind of money on GTX now. You can get yourself 2 8800GT for the price of 1 GTX :P

i am in a dilema now i have ati x1950xtx ,i am playing crysis at high sett with avg fps 24.so what should i do should i wait or should i get the 8800gt............

whats d screen resolution u play crysis?

if it gives u 24FPS avg then i dont think 8800GT will be around 40FPS and 8800GTX around 45FPS ...so now u decide... but my suggestion is 8800GT coz its a pci-e 2.0 card so in future if u upgrade ur mobo it will help for playing dx10 games with full pcie2 support... otherwise stick to ur current gfx which is good i think apart from crysis.

if u have to get it now then go for the 8800gt or if u can wait a bit then i suggest u hold ur buy until the new 8800GTS comes out.

i play crysis at 1280*1024, shadow med, sun shaft on (manually)............everything high.but it runs smooth...so should i wait guys,,,,,,,,,,

ya you should wait :)

Dude,

X1900XTX is a great card. Even u are able to play Crysis at 24fps which is very good considering the playability factor of crysis even at low frame rates.

Keep the card. Now AMD HD3850 & 3870 have come. The 3850 crushes the 8600GTS at lesser price. Wait till some more days. U'll see more cards & price dumps.

Bye.

Well , do u plan to sell ur current card ?? U'd not receive a good return anyway right now .. and after a few months , it'd go down even more ... from this point of view .. if u're able to sell off ur card for anything around 7k's , sell it and get the 8800gt for 14k's :P ... use it for a certain time , let the newer cards settle down by then , about 6 months or so .. and then u should easily be able to sell off the 8800gt for anything around 9-10k's , which btw would be so impossible for the X1950XTX ... so u invest 7k's now , and later sell it off for 10k's , and actually end up gaining from the card .. not only in value , but also in performance compared to the current card u have ..

And about the new G92 based 8800GTS .. dx10 will suck anyway .. so it'd be much wise to get a 8800GT , oc it and use it for 6 months , and then jump onto the next series of gpu's after they settle down in the market ...

This is infact the exact reason why i decided to rush this time .. coz after 2-3 months , i'd get even less for my card , which would infact widen the gap for my investment .. so sell now , get a vfm card .. then later it'd be much easier to sell a 8800gt compared to a 7950gt , and at a higher price too .. so if i do feel like upgrading , i'd have to worry less :P ..

PS ... btw , 1280*1024 , very high on XP ... 34+ fps in the built in GPU benchmark .. doesn't this sound tempting ?? :P .

the g92 8800gts 512mb @ $350-400 is set to beat the $500 8800gtx according to nvidia & you say it'll suck :P :P :P

Arrey dude ... just the dx10 part  .. and its not only the hardware , coz even Crytek has agreed on one fact - dx10 is too new to be "optimized" ...

stick to ur 1950xtx for some time and wait for the price to drop anyways you wont get good returns on that 1950xtx if u manage to sell of your card at 8k then it a total worth it and get the 8800GT anyways its really a good card for gaming
