which console is good for light gaming

Nah i dont think you'll get one in the 6K budget. But in that budget i guess you are not looking for Full HD and big size i guess ? It'll look decent enough on a 19" screen or so.

No i am not looking for full HD or big size.....anything that fits 6K budget and can connect Ps2 and DTH.I just need a temp screen as ill soon buy a LCD/Plasma TV...this is just for 6 months or so , hence dont want too spend a lot of money.
 
XBOX 360 will the Best Bang For The Buck, specially after the recent price slash. All the XBOX 360 shipped now to India are JESPER and have maximum of 10% of return (RROD) ratio.

Why XBOX 360 is that every title is more or less released on this platform.

Why do you want to play 5 year old games for 6-7K on PS2 when you can play new ones at the cost of 12-14K. (12K for Grey Market/12.5K for Grey Modded)

Plus I would suggest that you play original games, however there is no asking why, if you decide otherwise.

Lastly, it is a great experience, Specially after the new "Kinetics" XBOX 360 will be on the top of all the other consoles in the market.

And lastly,

"DUDE THERE IS NOTHING LIKE LITE GAMING, CAUSE EITHER YOU ARE IN IT OR OFF IT !" And even if we do have a term called LITE GAMING then it only describes the time you spend to play games on a daily basis, and does not specify the quality of experience you want to have when you play games.

PS2 + LCD = bad PQ! PS2 has an SD output and would look bad on HDTVs.

It is Jasper and Kinect FYI. :)

Well, we will wait and watch how the Kinect turns out to be. Going by the E3 2010 demos, I was barely impressed. Whereas Playstation Move was totally kick ass with the kind of titles one could play with it. Not some olympic marathons and jumping and sprinting. :\

PQ?? i am not looking for a HDTV ...just a basic LCD monitor and for6k i wouldnt get full HD anyways...
 
And you are going to need those component out to VGA converters for having the display from the PS2 connected to the LCD anyway. And the resolution of a 19" 16:10 display is 1440x900 and the highest resolution the PS2 can support is 480p IINW. So essentially the output is upscaled and the PQ suffers. Don't take my word for it - see it in person if you can go to a Croma or Reliance Digital. :)
 
I concur with Jay, if you can stretch your budget just a bit and get the xbox 360, at least you will be able to play the new gen titles. I myself, bought the ps3 just to play fifa and arcade games (racing), cause I simply cant get around playing fps with a controller! I tell you the Fifa09/10 on the console are light years ahead of the PC version. But if you think spending on a Xbox and a decent LCD is too much, then PS2 would be your best option, you wont be disappointed with either, but the former would be as close to perfect.
 
If you have the money & are a light gamer, what could be better than a PS3. I mean even if you play less you can be assured that everytime that you are playing you are playing the best possible thing out there.
 
I'll actually say spend 7k or so and get a 2nd hand PSP. Its amazing man, movies, songs, games it got everything. Moreover theres FIFA too if u want.
