CPU/Mobo which cpu for asus m2n-mx

my gf needs her system to upgrade, and since i have a spare asus m2nmx lying around, i decided to give it to her. Now for a minor upgrade with following features, let me know which amd proci is the best...

1. atleast 2.5ghz speed
2. budget 3k-5k max

looking for vfm, which one to go for... the board is asus m2nmx and not se version... should run vista within vista comfortably (virtual pc).....

i have 4gb ddr2 800 and 8600gt to go with it..

actually 4600+ for 2.8k as on deltapage... i think it might hurt a little when it comes to running vista virtualpc on vista....

also i have a spare 3600+ with 1.9ghz... so a 4600+ wont be a big jump over it...

i was thinking 5200+ for 3.5k .. what say 2.7ghz ... good enough..??
 
^^decent....but the price on delta wont b the street price...u can get 300buxx or more than wt they quoted on site. a 5200+ is somewer around 3.2k i guess.
 
^^not vfm if u ask me...stick with 5200+ even the 4600+ can run the system smooth enough. u have 4gb ram. more than enough for vista setup;)
 
i know it can run vista smoothly... but someone please tell me if it can run vista smoothly on a virtual pc within vista...

i install vista, then install virtual pc, then i install vista on it and then run it...??
