Which Crysis 2 to get PC vs X360

Hey guys,

Want to enjoy Crysis 2 but still not decided which one to get. My configs are as follows:

C2D 8400

2 GB DDR 800 RAM

HD 4870 512

24" Dell Goodness

vs

Xbox 360 with 40" Full HD Goodness

There is a Poll added with the post. Which one will give a better gaming experience.

P.S. This thread is not a PC vs Console thingy. This is just for my configs as i don't wanna spend on new hardware to enjoy the eyecandy.
 
overall on a bigger screen it will be better. but if you are 1 of those who doesnt like fps on the console then you will enjoy it more on the pc.

i have opted to play on the pc. its working perfect on extreme settings @ 1920 x 1200 on a gtx 460, amd x4 & 3gb ddr2
 
IMO, your PC config wont be able to deliver game on 1080p, everything high or extreme. 4870 may provide you good output even at 1080p coz it's super card, but IMO, processor and ram may become bottlenecks.

And crysis in particular is known for it's sheer detailed graphics.

I am not entirely sure about xBox result, but it's true that a good system, fulfilling recommended MSR by the game, will sure give much more super result then consoles.

However if you are planning to run 1400 X 900, You system config may deliver an output at med to high settings flawlessly.

Final thing is I would recommend 'crysis' especially on PC, provided that PC fulfills recommended MSR.
 
X360 all the way if you can control FPS games with a controller.

BTW I played Bulletstorm on my config and got 40FPS avg @1080. Hope Crysis 2 give me same :P
 
If you do not want to spend and enjoy it too....guess the Console is best. FPS control is slightly hard though.

Else you can tone down the settings on the 4870. Console will be less compromise, but more practice.

Does the console port still have auto-aim? The PC patch removed it but not sure if there was an update for the console as well.
 
I played black ops on the console and absolutely loved it so yes i can play FPS on the consoles no problems.
 
Having played it on both the platforms, I would say that the PC version triumphs over the 360 easily. I have almost the same configuration as yours and it performed flawlessly on 'Gamer' settings and looked miles ahead of the 360 version, with better frame rates and native 1080p.
 
crysis 2 on the pc will give you the best experience but your rig wont be able to handle 19x10 res at extreme settings...but still you will have a better experience than on a xbox 360...but probably you will have to stick with high settings at your monitor's native res. FYI crysis 2 after the day 1 patch has the revised graphical settings as under---- gamer, high, very high, extreme
 
I'm on C2D 2.4 , GTS 250 , 2GB DDR RAM but can still play at 1920X1080 with high res textures with better fps compared to consoles.
 
If its just for SP , get PC version eyes closed , it so cheap compared to console version.Your PC is good enough to play it on Max , may be not Full HD resolution , but u can always tweak it with the advanced settings mod floating around, to gain some fps.

If MP also is your priority , your decision should rest upon the no. of your freinds getting the game on PC or 360.
 
PC version sir, play FPS the way it meant to be played!!....

PS- We have similar PC configuration, and I WILL be getting the PC version.
 
I haven't gotten hold of crysis2 yet but looking from the reviews the graphics are apparently of lesser quality than part one.Also,they only have 3 graphic options, no shadow,texture etc fine tuning options.Due to this the system requirements have been very low and even a 5770 can play Crysis 2 at full settings,1920x1200 at 25+fps.Crysis 2 Benchmarks

Yup. Even I've almost same PC configuration as Switch's, and I'm enjoying Crysis2 at Gamer settings at 1080p. Waiting for the DX11 patch to land. PC version anyday for FPS.

What is stopping you from hooking up your PC to your TV?

The game on your PC will easily outperform the xbox settings. Xbox is basically < 720p 'High' settings. At the minimum, your PC can do that. After your first play through, you will also have the option to increase fov, make more detailed settings changes (low shadows, but high textures, etc).

One reason to go with the xbox version is if you want to play multiplayer. There seem to be a lot of issues with multiplayer on the PC, though these might have been fixed.
