Camera Which digital camera to buy under 10k??

Hello TE

I am looking for a digital camera in the under 10k range. I'd like to learn photography and do a little bit of experimenting so I want the best quality camera in my budget with little bit of manual operation like shutter speed control and manual focus. The camera would be used by anyone in my family if needed so i dont want a very complicated camera. Please help.
I have the following cameras in mind:
  • Canon SX150
  • Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ20
What are my other options?
 
@6pack : I think the canon SX160 is also withing my budget but then not willing to pay 40% extra just for better zoom. The SX160 does 25 fps whereas the SX150 does 30 fps in 720p HD video recording. I am also considering the fujifilm s2980 but it doesnt have manual focus though it has an electronic viewfinder.[DOUBLEPOST=1369152403][/DOUBLEPOST]

How would you compare the fujifilm s2980 with the canon sx150.
