Hi, I'd just bought a 32" 1080p sony LED TV. Now , I want to switch to DTH and is confused about chosing one....
I'd airtel HD and Tata Sky HD in mind, but can't decide between the two...
airtel is a bit costlier though ......but ready to spend more if picture quality is better
Which one will be good to go for.....I mean whose picture quality is better..?
I live in Faridabad(NCR)

I use TATA sky. For Every 4months they are increasing prices for the packages. Recently the Dhamaal Pack 180 Rupees was increased to 200. Actually it was 125 in Feb 2011 > 150 in May 2011 > Again 180 in Jan 2012 > 200 now.
I don't know what they wanted to do. May be ask us to pay 500 bucks per month in coming years for same shit Channels?

I Would Recommend you to try HD Connction from Local cable Operator if he's a Distributor of hathway. If you don't like LCO take Tata Sky HD should be Good with Clarity and Sound.

I'd strongly suggest Videocon . I've been using their SD service for over 4 months now. PQ is very good and I use my 20" 1600x900 LED monitor with internal TV tuner with a viewing distance of 3 ft. Their package are the cheapest in the market as well :)

I am using airtel for 3 years and I haven't seen pathetic customer service like Airtel. They don't have proper customer care number if you call on the tolled number there is no guarantee that the call will be completed. Always provide wrong ETA for complaints.
But the positive side is channel clarity is good and the recharge is instant.

Had used Dish TV also in 2008 and they provided fairly good service at that time.

yes just checked they have increased Rs 10 for my packs ...the only reason i am staying with tata sky is ebay :P .

One good thing about tata is you never have to worry about service they are good even if you live in some remote area like me but then it also depends on the technician in your area...mine is a cheat sadly .

Tata Sky or Videocon (if you want more regional + more HD channels), rest of the lot got nothing much to talk about.

TataSkyHd+ user here. Customer service is good and channels get added instantly via SMS or Phone. PictureQuality is great.

If you or your folks watch a lot of TV, Videocon or Dish. If you don't watch TV at all (or watch may be one or two hours a day), Tata Sky should be fine. They lack channels and are costly. I have been with them for more than 5 years, and their customer care is just overrated. They can't do anything more than say they 'understand' your problem. That's it. That is not sufficient to 'fix' a problem in my opinion. Only reason I haven't changed is we don't really watch a lot of TV - or in my case, I stopped watching TV after Tata Sky came along as most or all of what I watch(ed) wasn't/isn't available

I am Agreeing with the above Comments. Tata Sky is Best in Terms of Service or Alerts and they're good at Bugging you if you don't Recharge your tata sky account :P
Just found out they hiked Grand sports pack by 20 bucks. Grrr.. It Seems in coming days i have to pay 1k for TV!

Even D2H is Damn Good. Friend uses it.

Hey which channels are they missing, I checked Airtel some time back doesn't look like major channels? Regional channels?

I have tata sky they also have increased my package price as well....but their CC is really good and they have aljazeera my favourite news channel :P.

I cannot say what to Buy.
But can tell you what not to - Do Not Buy Reliance. :P
(yeah I am a reliance user)

Which one to chose - Airtel HD or Tatasky HD. They both have 5.1/7.1 audio output. Watching movies would be good but seems Tatasky is not adding any movie channel except Starmovies HD which has been there for long time. Airtel has two movie channels Starmovies HD and Moviesnow HD. Any idea when Tatasky would be adding more HD channels. Seems like they are the one with least HD channels. Would prefer Airtel for more HD channels with 5.1 sound output but how good is their Customer Service in areas like Chennai. Which service has more regional channels? Videocon does not have 5.1 audio output so not interested in that.
